Recently we deployed a version of Hello Health that included a new invoicing feature. Sound mundane? Sound out of place? You can be forgiven for thinking so, except that our experience has taught us that the small medical practice is also very much a small business, and where would a business be without a way of tracking and collecting payment? Probably in the red.
Helping doctors run the business side of their practices is an important aspect of making their overall professional existence productive. Our new invoicing feature is another way we help doctors and their staff run the business end of things.
Staff can view an array of invoices, along with key details at a glance and link directly to a visit note or view any aspect of the patient’s chart. The entire invoice archive can be searched, filtered and sorted to easily track down past due accounts. In addition, invoices can be created for any product or service for which the practice chooses to charge. For example, a practice that is providing non-covered services like weight-loss programs, virtual visits or lifestyle counseling can configure custom lists of services or products that the practice routinely provides, complete with their associated fees. When it’s time to collect, simply select the products and services, type in the patient name (our auto-complete feature will quickly help you locate them), add a note if you wish and complete the transaction.
