In response to the global novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Hello Health’s role is to assist medical professionals to better serve their patients. While we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, below is an update of our actions to-date.

The CDC announced that the emergency ICD-10-CM code, (U07.1, 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease) established by the WHO, will be effective on Oct 1st, therefore, it won’t be included until September 2020. However, there are already 15 new descriptions of the (COVID-19) available in Hello Health.

For further information and description of the codes follow the IMO’s link.  In addition, on March 31st, there will be 136 coronavirus (COVID-19 virus) related terms, following the interim coding guidelines released by the CDC.

Meanwhile, Quest Diagnostics, LabCorp and Enzo have recently announced the launch of a coronavirus (COVID-19) test service. These codes are now available in Hello Health and we will continue to update our database as our Laboratory partners continue to release test services.

To help further assist you, we suggest all practices take advantage of the communication tools available through the Hello Health and PortalConnect platforms to communicate and facilitate patient’s healthcare needs from the comfort of their homes. We encourage you to reach out to your patients with our secure messaging tool and if they haven’t already, to prompt patients to sign-up to PortalConnect.

We understand many practices will have to accept only telephone visits and/or email consultations. We recommend our users to take advantage of the online availability features for patients, as well as the automatic billing components.

If you require assistance with setting up your practice with these tools, please contact the Hello Health Support Team.
